AMS 2018 fee rates and reporting categories

The board of Automotive Materials Stewardship (AMS) on September 29 approved 2018 fee rates and new antifreeze categories.

The new Antifreeze reporting categories and fee rates apply to the sales quantities for the period January 1, 2018 – March 31, 2018 (Q1).  Stewards will report these quantities by April 30, 2018 (Q2) invoices will be calculated using the new Antifreeze fee rates for Q1 sales quantities reported in Q2.

What You Need to Know: Transition Plan for Automotive Materials Service Providers Including: Transporters, Processors and Municipalities

Purpose

To assist transporters, processors and municipalities with the transition from Stewardship Ontario to Automotive Materials Stewardship for the management of used antifreeze, oil containers and oil filters.​

WDO Board Approves Automotive Materials Stewardship (AMS) ISP

On August 10, the WDO Board approved Automotive Materials Stewardship (AMS) ISP to manage automotive materials (antifreeze/antifreeze containers, oil filters, and oil containers) with an effective date of no sooner than January 1, 2017.

The ISP was approved following consultations from February 26 – April 29, 2016 that included an online survey, webinar, posting on the Environmental Bill of Rights Registry, and opportunities to speak to WDO by phone or in person. Read more »

Final Automotive Materials Stewardship ISP

As we await a decision by Waste Diversion Ontario (WDO) on AMS’ ISP, we’d like to take the opportunity to thank our stakeholders for their feedback on the plan and share with you the final version of the ISP, which was submitted to WDO for their consideration.

Changes to the plan include:

  • Confirmation of the target: “AMS will seek to maintain Stewardship Ontario’s reported performance for 2015, discounted for any contamination by non-Automotive Materials commingled with Automotive Materials, where such performance exceeds the targets.”
